Consumer Protection and Stored Value Facilities
AbstractStored Value Facilities are becoming increasingly available for Australian consumers. But what are the consumer protections offered to users of these facilities. This article examines and outlines what is a stored value facility, considers their advantages and disadvantages and the current role of the Electronic Funds Transfer Code of Conduct. The paper will conclude with a summary of the consumer protection norms that should guide future development of this area.
